With over 20 years of martial arts experience, Dustin began training in 1986 in TaeKwon Do, Jeet Kune Do, and the Filipino martial arts. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to study Karate, Kung Fu, TaiChi, Silat, Wing Chun, and Kuntao Silat de Thouars. He has attended numerous seminars covering different systems and styles. These opportunities have provided him with a strong foundation for the comparative analysis of the martial arts.

Dustin's Pekiti-Tirsia training began in 1990 with Guro Ricky Rillera. He trained with Ricky for many years along with his training partner Clint Grumbles. In 1995 he moved to Norman, OK to attend graduate school. While in Norman, he continued to teach and train in Pekiti at the USA Stars Foundation in Midwest City, OK. It was while living in Norman that he first me Tim Waid out of Dallas, TX. He has continued training with Tim privately and at seminars.

Dustin's training with Grand Tuhon Gaje began in 2002 during Gaje's seminar tours of North America, specifically Texas. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is the only martial art he trains in and focuses on. He was certified as Guro (Full Instructor) by Grand Tuhon Gaje in August 2006.

Dustin is a professional educator, lives in San Antonio, TX, is married with three children and continues to actively train, teach, and attend seminars on a regular basis.
