Edged / Impact Weapon close quarters combatives
   

Training focuses on combat skill specific conditioning that develops the mental and physical attributes necessary for edged, impact, and empty-hand weapon combat. Attributes are developed within the footwork drills and weapons drills of the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali System. This is achieved by following the Training Phases and Process, which consists of the following:

  • Individual Execution and Training
  • Combat Drills
  • Combat Sparring

Mental and physical mastery of oneself and mastery of the fundamentals of the system is key to advancement, understanding, and expertise.

Curriculum

Main Weapon Systems:

  • Solo Baston/Kalis (single blade/stick)
  • Doble Baston/Kalis (double blade/stick)
  • Daga y Daga / Dagaso Tirsia (knife/dagger)
  • Mano y Daga (empty-hand vs knife/dagger)
  • Mano y Mano / Pangamut / Dumog (empty-hand)
  • Espada y Daga (blade/stick and knife/dagger)

Additional Weapon Systems:

  • Bankaw (staff, center hold)
  • Malayo Sibat (staff, end hold)
  • Flexible Weapons
  • Projectile Weapons
  • Firearms
    (rifle, shotgun, hand gun retention, disarming offensive/counter-offensive applications; counter-offensive attacks, creating space, and drawing for CHL holders)
  

Skills development in the weapons systems to the left transfer to the following modern weapons, which are widespread, readily available, and/or in prominent use:

Tactical folders (carry, draw, and deployment)
Telescoping batons (ASP)
Military combat knives
Bayonet
Palm stick

Times, fees, and LOCATION

Training Times

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00p.m. to 9:30p.m.
  • Sundays from 10:30a.m. to noon.
  • As classes grow, more times may become available.

  • Classroom located at the rear of the store.

Cost

  • $90 a month w/contract
  • 6 month contract available
